Shichio MINATO is a visual artist and fine art academic with 15 years research, teaching and art management experience. He is a full professor of fine arts at the University of Fukui, Japan. From 2016 to 2017, he has been appointed as a visiting professor at the Academy of Fine art, Ghent, Belgium.
He graduated from Kanazawa College of Arts, Kanazawa in Japan (BFA) and from KASK, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Ghent in Belgium (MFA).
After obtaining his MFA, he moved to France where he worked as an assistant for printmaking classes at Ecole Régionale des Beaux Arts de Saint-Etienne.
He is interested in non-toxic printmaking, especially development of a supporting system for school teachers.
As he is an art director, he curated a number of exhibitions and was appointed as a representative director at E&C Gallery, Fukui, Japan.
Shichio had exhibitions of his works in Japan and abroad.
