ポンテでは初めてとなる、画家・湊七雄の個展を開催いたします。
金沢美術工芸大学卒業後、スウェーデン、ベルギー、フランスで版画の研鑽を積み、現在は版画と油彩の双方を手がけています。今展では、その多彩な表現の世界をご覧いただけます。色彩が詩的な形象の画面を包み込み、いつか見た風景や記憶を呼び覚ます湊の絵画は、観る者に柔らかく豊かな余韻を残します。ぜひご高覧賜りますようお願い申し上げます。
Artist Statement たとえば、雪の朝のように、昨日までの雑多な記憶をそっと沈める白の静けさ。音が消え、すべての輪郭があいまいになったとき、世界はやわらかな余白を取り戻す。
不在とは、失われたものの痕跡を感じること。そして、その静けさの奥に、新たな可能性の光を見いだすこと。描かれなかった空間や、言葉の余白の中に、その光は、確かに息づいている。
作品制作を通して、私はそのような微かな気配を画面の中に呼び戻そうとしています。日本の美意識が大切にしてきた「侘び」「寂び」、そして「空（くう）」の感覚も、不完全さの中にある静けさを見つめる心から生まれました。
完全ではないものを肯定し、不在を楽しむ。冬の光の中で、そうした小さなよろこびを共有できればと思います。本展は、「不在」という概念をめぐり、視覚と感覚で体験する新たな思索の場を共有する試みです。
湊 七雄（みなと しちお）
ArtistProfile 1972年三重県生まれ。金沢美術工芸大学卒業後、ベルギー王立ゲント美術アカデミーに留学。版画技法と芸術理論の両面で研鑽を積み、最優秀賞を得て修了。絵画と版画を通して、目に見えない感情や記憶の痕跡、そして人と世界とのあいだに潜む微かな関係性を見つめ続けている。また20年以上にわたり、環境や身体への負荷を抑えたノントキシック版画技法の研究に取り組む。国内外で個展・グループ展多数。 |

About the Exhibition
Shichio Minato (born 1972, Mie Prefecture) graduated from Kanazawa College of Art before studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, where he earned the highest honors. Through painting and printmaking, he continues to explore invisible emotions, traces of memory, and subtle relationships between people and the world. For over 20 years, he has researched non-toxic printmaking techniques that reduce environmental and physical impact. His work has been exhibited extensively in Japan and internationally. This is his first solo exhibition at Galleria Ponte.
Artist Statement
Like a snowy morning, the stillness of white gently settles the chaotic memories of yesterday. When sounds fade and all contours blur, the world regains its soft margins. Absence means sensing the traces of what has been lost. And in that stillness, discovering the light of new possibilities.
The light breathes quietly in the unpainted spaces and in the margins of words. Through my creative practice, I attempt to call back such faint presences onto the canvas.
The Japanese aesthetic sensibilities of wabi-sabi and the concept of kū (emptiness) emerge from a contemplation of the quietude found in imperfection. To affirm the incomplete, to delight in absence. In the winter light, I hope to share these small joys.
This exhibition is an attempt to share a new space of contemplation—experienced through sight and sensation—centered on the concept of "absence."
